Markley Calls Malloy Initiative “High Profile Photo-Op”

CT-Sen. Joe Markley, R-Southington, is critical of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s “First Five Initiative,” in the wake of another award under the program, this time $51 million to Alexis Pharmaceuticals.  The money from the Malloy administration will enable the company, which is located in Cheshire where part of Markley’s 16th Senatorial District exists, to leave that town and move to New Haven.  Speaking on CTTalking.com-LIVE to host Dan Lovallo, Markley labeled the governor’s program a “high profile photo-op.”  Markley added, “You have a government (Malloy administration) by people, who have no idea what business is about.”

Markley’s career has been teaching English and working for trade associations. He represents the government that “has no idea what business is about”.  He is a disruptive force in state government, clinging to the Republican party platform and criticizing Governor Malloy’s every move while not proposing any new ideas or making a token effort to collaboratively work with the government in power.
